| February 25, Bridgewater-Raynham School Committee Meeting tonight Tonight's B-R School Committee Meeting will be largely financial. (It is at Raynham Middle School at 7:30 pm.) It includes the release of the Preliminary FY2010 Budget by the B-R Administration. As in past years, this first budget will include many items that a school district should fund, but often are reduced or removed later in the budget process due to limited financial resources. March 25th will be the formal Hearing on the FY2010 Budget, and on April 8th the School Committee will release its final version of the budget. There will also be scheduled Public Forums (Discussions) to review the budget as we approach May Town Meetings in both communities. Because of questions I have already received from the community, I should stress that this is a preliminary budget and that I anticipate the School Committee voting to "accept" the report. This does not mean endorse, merely that the Committee recognizes the work done so far, and accepts the report as our School Committee continues the work towards a final budget number and presentation. |
