Based on the written materials provided by the Superintendent candidates, their presentations while meeting with the School Committee, and comments of others' observations, one individual has demonstrated a clear understanding and focus relative to curriculum and instruction. This has been and continues to be a primary concern of mine, and I believe many other members of the School Committee.
Therefore, I make a motion to bring forward the name of Dr. Jacqueline Forbes as the next Superintendent of the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District. This is subject to reaching contract terms with Dr. Forbes. (Dr. Forbes is currently the Superintendent of Schools for East Providence RI.) The vote by the School Committee was unanimous.
I would like to thank Patricia Riley for her role as Chair of the Superintendent Search Committee, the other eleven individuals who volunteered their time to assist in the process, and the Center for Executive Search (Peter Cannone, Joseph Gilbert and Walter Nagle) for all of their assistance and guidance.
