December 17, Written Legal Opinion regarding Bridgewater Selectmen Proposal on de-Reg Vote

While there has been much talk about the legality of a Town Meeting Election Vote on the matter of de-Regionalizing Bridgewater-Raynham, the Town of Bridgewater has not yet put forth any written opinions on the matter.  The B-R School District requested that its attorney review the matter and report back in writing to the School Board.
The attached 2-page letter from B-R Attorney Joe Emerson is available here
{click here to download the pdf} and clearly states that a Town Meeting vote and Election Ballot are two different things.  As much as Chair Mark Oliari and Stan Kravitz would like to have it differently, that does not make it so.
Once again, rather than focusing their attention on issues pressing to the Town, these two use their elected position to further their own personal agendas.
