September 27, A rumor claiming that the School Committee blocked the Bridgewater Town Meeting

No one ever approached the School Committee on this matter.  In fact, when Chris Flynn came to the School Committee meeting last week he did not EVER mention the issue of location.  So, if this was an issue from the Selectmen towards the School Committee, Chris did not bring this up even though we dedicated a considerable amount of meeting time to Chris's delivery of a letter (requesting $500,000) and other matters on Chris's mind.
There are sporting and school events on Saturday, as on most Saturdays at most high schools across the state.  From what I have heard, there was concern about available parking with events taking place.  I do not know if there were any specific conflicts for gym or auditorium, more that if people are at the fields, etc..., it would take away from the available parking.
Plus, my guess here, but they reconsidered scheduling a Saturday meeting on a holiday weekend -- the symbolic end of summer, and a weekend when many plan out of town vacations.  So, to suddenly pick a Saturday like they did could have caused them some grief.
In conclusion, this is nothing more than imaginative spin.  No truth to the matter.
