May 2, Law Day in US and demonstrations by those illegally in the US

While not many people knew it, May 1st was Law Day in the US.  All the news stations highlighted the plight and demonstrations of the illegal immigrants, while I could not find a single media outlet that talked about Law Day.  President Bush signed a proclamation (http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/04/20070428-1.html) once again recognizing the day.  The day observance began in the 1950's, and was brought forth by the American Bar Association (http://www.loc.gov/law/public/lawday.html)- lest someone think May 1st is just one of those recent additions to the calendar.
Quoting from the President's Proclamation: "Our Nation is built upon the rule of law and guided by our founding promise of freedom, equality, and justice for all. Law Day is an opportunity to celebrate the Constitution and the laws that protect our rights and liberties and to recognize our responsibility as citizens to uphold the values of a free and just society. "
This adds an interesting perspecitve to those demonstrations by illegals and their supporters, trying to elicit sympathy from others for illegal acts - such as entering the US without documentation or with forged/fake documents, or simply overstaying their authorizations.
It takes a certain amout of insensitivity to stage a protest for illegal immigrants on a day that for fifty years has been set aside to recognize the Constitution and our laws.  Or, perhaps the staged protests on this day were planned so as to further show their disdain for the laws of this country.
