The following update is direct from the Building Committee, and describes this project:
*The project is called the Mechanical System Replacement for the Future Home of the Bridgewater Middle School. *The scope of work consists of the 2nd and final phase of the replacement of the heat plant and associated piping, controls, heating units and ventilators. Also included in the scope is a complete removal and replacement of all asbestos containing and regular ceiling tiles, new ceiling lighting in corridors and classrooms and replacement of the bookshelf/storage units on the outside walls of all classrooms.
*The project schedule will commence in (2) stages; Stage 1 (boiler room work) is scheduled to begin as soon as the existing school heat plant is shut down for the season. This typically occurs in late April. Stage 2 (work within the classroom and admin wings) is contracted to begin no later than August 1, 2007, but we are presently preparing a schedule which will hopefully move B-R out of our more time sensitive wings earlier than August 1.
*The contractor is required to achieve Substantial Completion no latter than Feb 28, 2008 and to be 100% complete no later than March 29, 20008.
