You can do something!
February 17, Resistance to business in Bridgewater

Earlier this week, I drove around downtown to take a look at the condition of business in our community.  The first picture is across from the old Bob's (Broad St. Tavern or bowling alley - depending on your memory).  Below that is the old Bob's restaurant.  Immediately below that (last picture) is a picture from the corner of Broad and Main Street.  While Banana Leaf is on the corner slot (a position often empty), there is still available space in that plaza.
So, when a company like Walgreens makes an overture or inquiry about locating a store in Bridgewater, it is not as if we have a beautiful downtown area.  And, businesses are not fighting to get the prime space - lots of space is available.
Rather than inventing every possible reason to prevent a business from locating in Bridgewater, perhaps these opponents could look to the positives - a newly developed site, employment and taxes.
