About 260 residents came to last night's Bridgewater Town Meeting. After the Meeting was called to order, the Moderator allowed Stephen Lynch (U.S. Congress - MA 9th) to speak to the community. While Town Meeting is conducted at 'Moderator discretion', this blatant campaigning is offensive to the principles of Town Meeting. Mr. Lynch's comments about garnering 80% of Bridgewater votes at the recent Democratic Primary and his request to voters to show even greater support next month was just too much.
Mr. Moderator - please give Jack E. Robinson a call (508) 583-2297, and schedule time for our next Town Meeting. Mr. Robinson is the GOP candidate for the 9th - http://www.jackforcongress.us/news/contentview.asp?c=36190
Actually, better still, keep Town Meeting to the matters at hand. Let's not start a bad precedent. If the politicians wish to speak to the community, they can call their own rally.
