| October 6, Bridgewater Town Meeting has surprise speaker
About 260 residents came to last night's Bridgewater Town Meeting. After the Meeting was called to order, the Moderator allowed Stephen Lynch (U.S. Congress - MA 9th) to speak to the community. While Town Meeting is conducted at 'Moderator discretion', this blatant campaigning is offensive to the principles of Town Meeting. Mr. Lynch's comments about garnering 80% of Bridgewater votes at the recent Democratic Primary and his request to voters to show even greater support next month was just too much. Mr. Moderator - please give Jack E. Robinson a call (508) 583-2297, and schedule time for our next Town Meeting. Mr. Robinson is the GOP candidate for the 9th - http://www.jackforcongress.us/news/contentview.asp?c=36190 Actually, better still, keep Town Meeting to the matters at hand. Let's not start a bad precedent. If the politicians wish to speak to the community, they can call their own rally. |
