You can do something!
July 18, Concerns about the Town Observer's use of material without permission

Subsequent to my story over the weekend about Mr. Sunshine (Editor-in-Chief) of the Town Observer using photos of mine without attribution, and after he finally returned my calls, we are discussing terms for him to publish an appropriate acknowledgement that he published photos of mine without permission and credit.  The following is my request to Mr. Sunshine.  As an act of good faith, the piece on my website has been removed.  The wording of the first sentence "Per further investigation..." was his request; the second sentence is my request.

So, if you agree to publish the following text with the two photos in question - so that ownership can clearly be established - then I can make appropriate action on my website to show that this matter has been resolved.  Let's agree page 2, same size photos as originally published, in your next issue July 26, 2006.  This time, with appropriate attribution, I give you permission to publish for this purpose.

Per further investigation, it has been brought to our attention that recent pictures of the 2006 July 4th parade sent to us by an individual who prefers to have his/her name kept confidential were actually taken by Joseph Gillis Jr.  It will be the policy of this newspaper in the future to always verify ownership of photos used, and to include photo attribution.
