You can do something!
July 12, Bridgewater Board of Selectmen ratify contract with Bridgewater Firefighters

Town Counsel Mark Gildea read to the Board of Selectmen highlights of the proposed contract with the Bridgewater Firefighters.  In two parts, the first was for a two-year agreement for the period 7/1/2004 through 6/30/2006, with a wage adjustment in April 2006 (retroactive).  The second part was for a new 3-year agreement, with health insurance splits moving over the term of the contract in one percent increments to the final year at 87/13 split, an incentive plan to address health insurance costs, and wage adjustments that 'average just over two percent per year'.  The contract was approved by the Board of Selectmen.
For the Town of Bridgewater, this means that four of the five unions have agreed to contract terms that modify the employer/employee insurance costs split from the current 90/10.  Once (if ?) the final union agrees to similar terms, then Bridgewater will be able to recognize some cost savings on insurance costs.
