| July 12, Decision by Bridgewater Board of Selectmen on Our Place last night
Selectmen Chair Herb Lemon, in a prelude to the announced recommendation, cited 2 previous violations and 12 concerns related to Mass General Laws chapter 138 section 34, Mass General Laws 138s69, and CMR 2.05(2). The recommended actoin was for a 90-day license suspension to being on August 30,2006. Selectmen Dennis Gallagher made a statement in which he said that he did not believe the penalty was harsh enough for the actions, and especially in light of the upcoming review of closing hours for all establishemnts. He questioned why if the whole Board was considering a one-hour rollback of hours to all establishements, shouldn't this punishment be even more severe - perhaps an actual revocation? Ultimately, with Mark Oliari abstaining from the process, the vote was unanimous to order a 90-day suspension of the establishment's liquor license. |
