You can do something!
June 29, Success at the first stage of B-R's School Choice Program

Earlier this afternoon, the first closing date for acceptance to the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School Choice Program was met with great success.  After only four weeks of notice, twenty-three students from ten communities applied; East Bridgewater, Lakeville, Norton, Taunton and West Bridgewater each with multiple students.
   Formal notification to the twenty-three accepted students will go out within the next days; including instructions on the process for the students and parents.
   Another cutoff date for selection will be announced shortly.  Parents who would like to apply for the next selection round are encouraged to contact the Bridgewater-Raynham Schools, Assistant Superintendent George Guasconi at 508-824-2730.

Bridgewater-Raynham adopted School Choice for the 2006-07 school year at its May 2006 Meeting.
- as a Pilot Program, to learn and understand if it is something we would later expand;
- to address certain student issues that create problems based on residency;
- to send a message that we believe the schools are heading in the right direction;
- to generate some funds to supplement the educational programs and supplies offered to the students.
   Bridgewater-Raynham is pleased and encouraged that citizens of neighboring communities recognize the significant progress that has been made over the past couple of years in improving the education of our students.
