June 21, Update to Bridgewater-Raynham FY2007 School Budget

At tonight's School Committee Meeting, a revised FY2007 budget was presented, and accepted by the Committee.  The current version forecasts $49,933,151 in operating costs and $140,000 in capital costs (modular classrooms).  Of note is a revenue forecast item for School Choice Tuitions of $50,000 - representing a conservative estimate for the number of students who will elect to attend B-R schools this coming year.
This results in a return as over-assessment to Raynham of $412,582.  An Article on Raynham's Special Town Meeting 6/26/06 will acknowledge the over-assessment and make a 'gift' to B-R for teaching positions.  This Aricle is subject to meeting approval - a majority 'yes' vote and a quorom present.
B-R has accepted Bridgewater's Town Meeting vote of $16,768,078 comprising $16,679,458 in operations and $88,620 as pro-rated share of modular classroom costs.
I would anticipate another revision to these numbers - not effecting town appropriations - as certain estimated numbers are approved and become official (such as Chapter 70 aid) in August or September.
