14,364 students across the Commonwealth are eligible for the John & Abigail Adms Scholarship - good for free tuition at any state {added 'state' 12/28 - inadvertantly left out} school they choose. Last year, 13,251 students were eligible; this represents an 8% increase.
To qualify, students must score in the top 25% of their school district on the MCAS test; also they must be in the Advanced area in either the math or english portion of the test while at least proficient in the other subject.
Of special note: Bridgewater-Raynham with an 18% increase, Bristol-Plymouth Voc Tech with 39% increase.
