| December 5, Status of the New B-R High School Construction Project and Reimbursement
The new B-R High School is on the School Building Assistance list with a projected 66.31% reimbursement rate. I have seen a copy of a confirmation letter from MSBA (new official group name) and have had a conversation with them confirming our placement. I cannot really comment on how or why a publication would publish something to the contrary. Anticipating a possible next question -- Town Meeting in Bridgewater on May 5, 2003, voted on the High School Project with "...no debt other than for engineering and architectural design costs shall be incurred for the Project thereunder unless and until the Project shall be placed on a School Building Assistance priority list by the State Department of Education." I point this out to be clear that no official requirement of a specific reimbursement rate was stipulated - only that the project be funded. The 68% was a figure provided by the School Building Committee for illustrative purposes. |
