| August 31, Supplies needed for 'back to school'
Perhaps it is only Burnell School in Bridgewater, but the list of requested items for the children to bring in seems to be getting out of hand. Yes, this is the same topic brought up last week (8/24) at the Bridgewater Raynham School Committee Meeting. The Superintendent stated that he would present his findings at the September School Comm Meeting. However, some of the items do seem unusual and in many ways excessive. To request that tennis balls be brought in... for the what purpose? Can used balls be utilized, or is the request truly for a brand new can? Why the request for two reams (1000 pieces) of paper? Is there a need for five copies per day per student - still leaving quite a bit of paper for administrative purposes? The overall B-R School Budget is millions more than last year. This amount is not enough to provide paper for the students? So, beyond whatever the Superintendent may learn, I invite the public to tell me their thoughts on this - and especially to hear about the school requests they received. As always, I am best reached via my personal email Joe@JosephGillisJr.com to hear from you. |
