| June 30, Summary of Bridgewater's 4th of July Celebrations
The parade will begin at Bridgewater State College's Kelly Gym Parking lot at 10am. Most come to their viewing spots around the Town Common early. For those early arrivals, beginning at about 9am, we will have the Bridgewater Antiphonal Brass Society playing in front of the Academy Building. The parade route is approximately 1.5 miles long and takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. After the parade, our annual Festival of the Arts begins (approx. 11am) in front of Boyden Hall and on School Street. Many crafters and artisans will be present to exhibit their work. Music will be on the steps of Boyden Hall, childrens' entertainers will be under a tent, and there will be a craft tent specifically for the children to make their own creations. Plenty of food options will also be available. At Legion Field, beginning at 6pm, there will be musical entertainment. At about 9:25, Miss Becky Geggett will sing the National Anthem. The culmination of the day is the fireworks show scheduled for 9:30 pm. Checks can be sent payable to Bridgewater 4th of July, P.O. Box 390, Bridgewater MA 02324. |
