| June 14, What is next for B-R Schools - Joint Town Meeting?
With the additional $2.5M from Bridgewater (vs. FY2005), and increased estimates for State money, there is some work needed to be done by the School Committee and Administration to determine an actual budget revenue amount. Although there are a few different calculations, the total budget (exclusive of debt) appears to be about $47.6M -- less than the initial Bridgewater-Raynham proposal, but considerably more than the FY2005 budget. Therefore, since work is still needed to be done on the budget, the B-R School Committee voted at tonight's Special School Committee Meeting to hold off on a budget vote until our June 29th Meeting. Further, because we are holding off on the budget, we are also holding off on a decision for a Joint Town Meeting. |
