| April 26, More on the CPA (Community Preservation Act) across the State
In my April 25th story, I touched on the votes for the CPA in Bridgewater and Raynham. The reason for this is that over the past few weeks ten communities have had votes for the CPA, and nine have been successful. Fairhaven, Randolph, Bourne, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, West Tisbury, Tisbury, Kingston and Bridgewater all passed the initiative. Raynham is the only community to not pass the proposal. Perhaps in Raynham, this is related to existing debt exclusions for sewers and completed school (new & refurbish) projects. Adding to this is the impending costs for the new B-R Regional High School. At any rate, it is noteworthy that 9/10 communities so far this year have passed the proposal while Raynham did not. For further info, please see the site --> http://www.communitypreservation.org |
