April 18, Bridgewater Advisory Board sends around their FY06 Budget Proposal

Many in the community may have received an email from the Advisory Board's Chair - Mike Demos - with a cover note and a spreadsheet for their current proposal for Bridgewater's FY06 Town Budget.

The proposal for B-R Schools is for $15,535,700.  This represents $849,962 in excess of the required minimum amount of $14,685,738.  The $849k represents approximately 27% of the $4,911,637 additional assessment requested by the B-R School Budget proposal; accordingly Raynham's share would be $484,358.  Combined, the two towns would provide $1,334,320 over the required minimum.  This would leave a deficit of $3,588,317 from the overall request of $49,914,904;  or an adjusted budget for $46,326,587.
Looking at the current fiscal year FY05, the adjusted budget (again, following the convention I have employed for the past articles on excluding Capital Project Costs) reduces the $45.3M to $43,083,339.  Therefore, the Advisory Board's proposal for funding represents a $3.25M increase over prior year, or a 7.5% increase.
