February 9, Some activity for voters at April Town Elections

For a while, it looked like the only contested seat might be for Bridgewater Tree Warden - incumbent Ricky Ellis challenged by Andy Bagas.  Yesterday, the scene changed as Mark Oliari (current elected member of B-R School Comm. through April 2005) took nomination papers for the Bridgewater Board of Selectmen.  He now challenges Butch Mulligan (current appointed member of Bridgewater Advisory Board).
For voters in Bridgewater and Raynham, the 3-year seat on the Bridgewater-Raynham School Committee for Raynham, is now being contested.  Early on, Bill Nickerson took out nomination papers expecting to challenge incumbent Linda Dillon.  However, at the Feb 2 School Comm Meeting, Linda announced that she would not seek re-election.  And now, Gordon Luciano (Assessor elected April 2004, after resigning from Selectmen elected April 2003) has also decided to try a run at a School Comm. seat.
With three weeks left in the period to take out nomination papers, I would expect to see more individuals stepping up to the challenge.
