You can do something!
October 13, New update information on School Building Assistance

There is a new website for information on the SBA program -->
www.mass.gov/msba
Bridgewater-Raynham has five projects on the list, Easton has two projects.

Priority  | Town   |  Name           | Apprvd Constr $ | Reimburse %
32 (1999) | B-R    | Raynham Merrill |  $3,950,000     | 73.00%
218 (2001)| B-R    | Raynham LaLib   |  $7,500,000     | 73.00%
333 (2003)| Easton | Ames HS         | $43,277,800     | 66.55%
334 (2003)| Easton | Conv HS to MS   | $24,621,230     | 67.34%
339 (2003)| B-R    | Conv HS to MS   |  $5,948,779     | 66.31%
394 (2003)| B-R    | new B-R HS      | $69,100,000     | 62.31%
421 (2003)| B-R    | Williams        | $22,759,985     | 67.79%

What could be an issue is the amount of money approved for the Williams project.  Nearly ten percent of the voted bond amount is not included in "Approved Construction Costs".
Another possible issue is the listed reimbursement rate of 62.31% on the new Regional High School.  This difference represents $3.93M in costs to be covered by the two host towns.  There has been "talk" of additional points accepted by SBA on this project.  However, I prefer to rely on documented fact - such as the info on the State website - rather than "talk" of bonus points.State Treasurer Tim Cahill is holding conferences across the state, answering questions about the newly formed State School Building Assistance program.  He may be coming to the Bridgewater/Raynham area later in October.
