| September 13, Reponses to phone calls & emails It is truly amazing the number of telephone calls and emails that I receive now that I have been elected. Many of these ask very interesting and engaging questions; however, some are in what could tactfully be described as "concerned or angry comments". To help in determining how to respond to the avalanche of contacts, I consulted the Mass Association of School Committees. It was explained to me that citizens have a right to ask questions or make statements, but there is no requirement that each one be responded to. Therefore, when it appears that the intent of a writer or caller is to engage in discussion, as time permits, I will attempt to return the call or email. However, if the tone of your initial contact was "nasty", you probably will not be getting a response from me. |
