| July 19, Warning/Probation/Hyperbole... Let's goto the source Many residents are talking about the latest "Chicken Little" being crowed about. There is a rumor that B-R will automatically lose its accreditation should the override fail because we are already on 'probation'. So, in the interst of finding the published truth, I direct you to the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (www.neasc.org). They actually have a listing of all schools and their status; eleven schools are on Probation. Take a look at their complete report on all MA High Schools (http://www.neasc.org/roster/psma.htm). There are no notations next to Bridgewater-Raynham High School, and you can see that the review date has been updated to reflect the 2003 review. Perhaps, someone will point out to me that we are on Probation, and that the NEASC made a reporting mistake. However, I normally believe published reports like this over the hearsay of others. Get the facts, and you decide where the facts are, and where the scare tactics are. |
