| April 22, Why talk so much about finances? Someone wrote to me, and then we spoke at great length earlier tonight. She was concerned about why I wrote my piece on April 20th on teacher salaries. It was written to highlight the runaway salary increases that the School Committee has extended contract over contract to the teachers. It is important to have good teachers, however is there a point when the increases cause financial problems elsewhere in the School Budget? Further, most people are truly concerned about the money for the B-R School System. Keep in mind, through five debates, I was not the one asking the questions - they came from a moderator or a panelist. I answered the questions asked of me. |
