You can do something!
April 8, Email from a concerned citizen with my response

I read yesterday's article in the Enterprise about your candidacy.  In the article, I think you were quoted as saying the high school should be put on the back burner.  If that quote is true, I don't know how much support there would be for that idea.  Considering the crowding at the lower grades, I think the high school should go ahead as planned.  One thing that should be said is that these people shouldn't be so worried about filling all the classrooms at this point in time.  The thing to worry about now is the outrageous budgets, which you have rightfully challenged.  If we have to move in with a few empty classrooms, that's how it goes.  But, that is at least 3 years away.  Those people need to get their priorities straight.  Thanks.

Thank you for your comments.
Maybe what I said in an open discussion the other night about a delay for the new High School is not a good idea.  I made the statement, and it was intended to get people to think about the delays.  The High School is still not approved by the Board of Ed (just met last week, next meeting April 27) and 92 other projects had all their paperwork processed on time.  I was only trying to make a point that the delays are fortuitous and may provide the two communities time to understand all of the underlying operating finances.  I never intended to jeopardize SBA funding or reimbursement.
Not every idea or proposal I bring to the table for discussion will be a good one, and this particular one may have been one for the 'NO' column.  However, I can assure you and everyone else in the two towns, that I will continue to bring ideas, plans and proposals forward for discussion.  In order to improve the educational system for our region, we should expect nothing less from our School Committee members
