You can do something!
It will be interesting to see how the B-R School Committee approaches the task of finding a new Superintendent. What will be the stated requirements and skills they believe necessary for the next Superintendent. I would like to see someone who is local to the area, and therefore better able to understand the needs of the two towns. Also, I believe someone with strong experience in budgets, contracts and finance, since we are now (and will be for the next few years) in difficult financial times.
Would someone like George Guasconi be the ideal candidate? He is a Bridgewater resident, who has come up through the ranks in the school system. Currently, as Business Manager, he is intimately involved in the school system's finances. He has also negotiated contracts without outside companies (Coca Cola to provide vending machines) to increase revenues. I believe that all of these areas would make George, or someone like him, the ideal person to next lead our school system.
