Does it still make sense for the Town to own the golf course? Recent problems --
1) vandalism to some golf carts
2) theft from vending machines
3) theft of at least $15k and paperwork
4) change of decision on club house
-- seem to suggest that the managing and ownership of a golf course should be left to professionals.
It is time to rethink the logic of an appointed board of volunteers that are given the authority over a major financial project like this. Also, to those who say it is unwise to sell in a down market, I would like to remind you that two Bridgewater restaurants just changed hands. In a 'down' market, and with recently passed smoking bans; so evidently business decisions can be made in today's economic climate.
