(A Special Town Meeting was required to once again decide the smoking question for Bridgewater. 222 signatures were presented by a group led by some of Bridgewater's restaurants and pubs, to the Board of Selectmen on 7/15, and the Selectmen were then required to call for the meeting with the one article.)
By a vote of 328 to 246, the smoking ban repeal was rejected by the town. A meeting that started late due to extremely long lines of residents coming through the registration table, came to a quick conclusion as the question was moved to immediate vote.
