July 8, Starting to look like Williams will be a $25M project

It appears that 3 of 5 Selectmen are in favor of the Williams rehab being the original $25M plan, rather than the $5M plan townspeople were assured of prior to the vote.  [The original plan was for a $25M complete rehab, but then the State said only one project per town, and the high school was chosen.  So, even though the ballot authorized $25M for work at Williams, everyone was assured that the project would only be a $5M repair job.]  Now, it appears that both capital projects could be considered by the State.  So, of course, our 'spend and tax' leaders believe this the way to go. Welcome to Brokewater, home of an empty fire substation, soon to have additional school buildings and 'state of the art' (their words... from the Bridgewater School Building Comm.) athletic fields, but no fireman or teachers since we will not be able to afford them.
